Coupons

We use ATB I formatted coupons. If ARC Document Retrieval Service is formatted to ATB II coupons, will we still be able to use it?

The ARC Document Retrieval Service is the same information you submit in your IAR report. The actual ticket coupon does not have to be “read” to get the data to us.

If I have a problem with a refund or exchange that requires me to put it through the IAR exception process, don't I need my original agent's coupon?

ARC will accept the agent or auditor's coupons that are printed from the ARC Document Retrieval Service (onto a full sheet of paper) in the exception report. The original agent coupon on thermal stock will NOT be required to process any transactions which are rejected overnight in IAR; simply print the agent coupon that you will find (as an “initial” transaction document) after 9AM the next day.

Will the carriers accept ARC Document Retrieval Service document copies for use in such things as filling out lost ticket applications and frequent flyer miles?

These documents will be accepted as proof of ticketing by a carrier. Since knowing the document number is essential for a Lost Ticket Application, this document should suffice. As far as frequent flyer miles, these documents show tickets, not actual usage (which is when the miles are earned). Many airlines are able to process miles if you give them either the ticket number and actual flight taken - whether or not that is what is on the ticket - or a copy of the boarding pass. Again, ARC Document Retrieval Service is a valid source of the ticket number.

Can I e-mail a coupon?

Yes. From the browser, click Create PDF, File, Save As, then, save it as a PDF document to the directory of your choice. Then send this file as an attachment to your e-mail.
