Royal Brunei Airlines Joins ARC

Royal Brunei Airlines (BI/672) has joined ARC as a participating carrier effective with sales on January 11, 2010 (PED 01/17/10).

With headquarters in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, Royal Brunei Airlines operates scheduled flights to 48 destinations from its hub at Brunei International Airport (BWN), including Jakarta, Surabaya, Hong Kong, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Manila, Singapore, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Jeddah and Dubai. Royal Brunei also includes service to London Heathrow (LHR), as well as Perth, Brisbane and Auckland. The airline operates a fleet of Boeing 767-300 and Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, and is displayed in Amadeus, Apollo, Sabre and Worldspan.

Royal Brunei Airlines is offering a 3% sales commission on published fares to ARC-accredited agents for tickets issued on Royal Brunei ticket documents (BI/672).

Royal Brunei Airlines has elected the General Concurrence method of agent appointment whereby all ARC agents are automatically appointed as agents of Royal Brunei unless specifically advised to the contrary by the carrier. Currently, Royal Brunei accepts Cash as the only form of payment through ARC.

IRS 2010 Tax Increases

The IRS has also announced that, for the calendar year 2010, the Alaska/Hawaii International Travel Facilities Tax will be increased from $8.00 to $8.10. Additionally, the notice provides that for the calendar year 2010, the US Flight Segment Tax will be increased from $3.60 to $3.70.

The new rates apply to domestic segments beginning on or after January 1, 2010 for which payment is made on or after January 1, 2010. The tax must be collected on all taxable amounts paid through March 31, 2010, even if the passenger's transportation begins after that date. Taxes collected for travel that begins after March 31, 2010, may be subject to refund if the tax is not extended. Congress may extend the tax in its current form or may revise it. ARC will inform agents if collection of the tax will continue after March 31, 2010.


British Airways Will No Longer Accept Interline Paper Tickets - Effective 2011

British Airways has announced that effective January 1, 2011, it will no longer accept any paper ticket coupons issued by its interline partners. The policy is based on IATA's recently enacted MITA (Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreements).


Aviacsa Airlines Now Accepts Cash Only

Effective with sales of January 11, 2010 (PED 01/17/10), Aviacsa Airlines (6A/095) no longer accepts credit cards and will accept cash only as valid form of payment through ARC.


Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Information

Sales Report Submission
ARC's offices will be open on Monday, January 18, 2010, for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. Your weekly sales report for PED 01/17/10 must be authorized by midnight Tuesday, January 19.

Ticket Void Schedule
Please note the following dates to modify and reconcile IAR transactions issued Friday, January 15:

GDS Void Date/ IAR Reconciliation - Monday, January 18.

ARC will be open and operating Monday, January 18 with the normal Customer Care Center hours of 9am - 9pm Eastern.

Tip of the Week: Attachments in Disputes for ARC Memo Manager

When disputing a memo in ARC Memo Manager, please remember that if you have supporting documentation for your dispute that you must attach the documents before you dispute the memo.

Once the status has changed to 'Pending Dispute', you can not add attachments or comments until the carrier accepts or rejects your dispute and the status returns to 'Agent Action Required'.
