Oman Air (WY/910) has joined ARC as a participating carrier, effective with sales on June 15, 2009 (PED 06/21/09).
With headquarters at Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, Oman Air operates domestic scheduled flights from its hub at Muscat International Airport to Khasab and Salalah, as well as regional flights to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt. Asian destinations include India, Thailand, Bangladesh and Pakistan; European destinations include London Heathrow. Oman Air has plans to expand operations to Frankfurt, Paris, Munich, Columbo and Male during 2009.
Oman Air operates a fleet of Airbus A330s, Boeing 737s and ATR 42-500s, and is displayed in Sabre, Galileo, Amadeus, Worldspan and Abacus.
Oman Air is offering 5% sales commission on IATA published fares or GDS-guaranteed fares to ARC-accredited agents, on all tickets issued on their stock (WY/910).
Oman Air has elected the General Concurrence method of agent appointment whereby all ARC-accredited agencies and corporate travel departments are automatically appointed as agents of Oman Air unless specifically advised to the contrary by the carrier. At this time, Oman Air accepts cash as the only form of payment through ARC.

The user time out amount in ARC Memo Manager has been changed from 15 to 30 minutes. Users will now be logged out of the application after 30 minutes of inactivity (instead of 15 minutes).
Whenever possible, if you receive a memo in Memo Manager, please process it using Memo Manager. If a memo must be manually entered into IAR, (for example, the branch that received the memo is now closed and no longer has an IAR sales report), please enter that closed ARC number in the "Issued to ARC Number" field.
When manually entering a memo in IAR, always verify and include the correct ARC number in the "Issued to ARC number" field on the Memo Screen (this field resides on the left-hand side of the screen under "Memo Information"). The "Issued to ARC number" field is auto-populated with the ARC number of the sales report you are processing. However, if the memo you are entering was issued to a different ARC number (a common example would be a branch number), please enter that different ARC number in the "Issued to ARC Number" field to insure that the payment will correlate back to the proper memo in Memo Manager, and that the memo is closed out when it is paid in full.
As previously announced in the 5/31/09 TAC, due to the integration of Alitalia (055/AZ) and Air One (867/AP), Air One will voluntarily delete from ARC effective Monday, June 22, 2009 (PED 06/28/09). AP-validated sales transactions submitted with agents' 07/05/09 PED sales reports will be returned to the agent unprocessed. The following new ticketing procedures have been provided:
Air One (AP) sales (tickets with all Air One routing) should be validated on Alitalia (055/AZ).
Effective June 28, 2009, agents will be allowed to exchange unused Air One (867/AP) coupons for new Alitalia (055/AZ) tickets directly in the GDS. Until then, agents are required to call the Air One - USA Call Center at 8889FLYAIR1 for assistance.
Please note that ARC will continue to process the exchange of unused Air One coupons for a new Alitalia ticket after the deletion of Air One from ARC.
Agents will have to transmit a refund application for unused Air One (867/AP) coupons to the AP Refunds Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact +39 06 65681335 or +39 0665681712.

Effective with sales of June 15, 2009 (PED 06/21/09), Air Baltic (BT/657) accepts American Express as a valid form of payment through ARC.
Training classes for ARC MarketPlace - which will also include information about additional revenue-generating opportunities - are being offered this fall. Each free one-hour interactive training class will be conducted online with audio conferencing through Microsoft Live Meeting. Classes will be led by an ARC instructor and participants can ask questions while viewing and following the instructor's presentation.
Class dates are scheduled to be held once a month throughout 2009.
