IMPORTANT UPDATE
Effective April 29, 2007 the ARC Travel Agency Service Fee (TASF) Program will become fully electronic. This means that after April 29, ARC will not accept manual TASF transactions submitted to the ARC Louisville Data Center for processing.
All TASF transactions must be submitted electronically via your GDS (using the automated service fee/MCO function) or via ARC Agent’s Choice (ARC’s GDS independent web based service fee application). Learn more about these product offerings.
It is important to note that this change does not impact the electronic submission of TASF transactions in any way. Agents who currently process using one of the electronic submission methods via the GDS (using the automated service fee/MCO function) or via ARC Agent’s Choice (ARC’s GDS independent web based service fee application) will experience no change.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is ARC eliminating the manual TASF process?
A: By making the TASF submission process 100% electronic, agents who currently submit manual TASF transactions will receive funds more quickly and incur a lower processing fee (3.5% with a $0.70 minimum).
Q: What is considered to be a Manual TASF transaction?
A: A manual TASF transaction is defined as transactions submitted using one of the following Manual TASF documents – stock number 3356-TASF Continuous, stock number 3360-TASF Sheet and/or stock number 3872-TASF Manual – and mailed to ARC’s Louisville Data Center for processing.
Q: What options will be available to submit TASF transactions after April 29, 2007?
A: ARC-accredited agencies will be able to submit TASF transactions using one of two electronic options available today — via the GDS (using the automated service fee/MCO function) or via ARC Agent’s Choice (ARC’s GDS independent web based service fee application).
Q: I use a GDS. Where in my CRS/GDS can I get more information on issuing an automated MCO TASF?
A: Amadeus: Automated Service Fee Document as a permanent element in the PNR. Agents on Amadeus can type in GGAMAUSSVC for more information on this product.
Galileo/Apollo: Paperless Service Fee Document (only available to agents on IAR Interactive Plus). Galileo/Apollo users can go to the HELP SERVICE FEES for more information.
Sabre: Automated MCO used as an automated service fee document. Sabre users can use the online help system Format Finder to obtain additional information.
Worldspan: Automated Service Fee Document, Paperless Automated Service Fee Document (only available to agents using IAR Interactive Plus). Agents on Worldspan can go to HELP SFMCO.
Q: I do not use a GDS and I only submit manual TASF transactions today. What will I do after April 29, 2007?
A: ARC has developed a GDS-independent web-based product — ARC Agent’s Choice — that allows any ARC-accredited agency in good standing and party to the ARC TASF Processing Agreement to process TASF transactions electronically through ARC. Learn more about ARC Agent’s Choice.
Q: What will happen if a manual TASF report I submit for processing is received by ARC after April 29, 2007?
A: Any manual TASF reports received after April 29, 2007, regardless of the postmark, will be returned to the agency without being processed.
Q: What happens to the Manual TASF documents that I have ordered - Document #3356 (TASF Continuous), # 3360 (TASF Sheet) and #3872 (TASF Manual)?
A: You can use these documents to submit Manual TASF transaction until April 29, 2007. After this date, these documents cannot be used to submit a TASF transaction to ARC for processing.
Q: Who can I contact if I have additional questions regarding this change?
A: If you have additional questions about this change, please contact ARC’s Customer Support Center at 703.816.8003 or send an e-mail to TASF@arccorp.com.
