“Researching transactions is easy with the ARC Transaction History File. We now have a permanent archive and save time and money by eliminating storage and retrieval of paper documents. Plus, we can now create sales reports to help our marketing efforts and increase sales. At Trans Am Travel, we are thrilled about the new VIEWER offered by ARC. Thank you, ARC.”

2002 ARC Transaction History File FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Why would agents or CTDs want transaction information?
Store data economically - All information is stored on a CD – significantly less space than if it was printed and stored on paper.
Centralize records - All records are conveniently stored in one location and are readily accessible for research purposes.
Research with ease - Easily retrieve and view records at any time – even years later.
Analyze historical data - Because the information is stored in a text format, it can be used with numerous popular software packages to view, sort, and create reports.

  2. Are agents required to order the information?
Absolutely not. Beginning May 1, 2008, the full year of 2005 data will not be available from ARC in any format. You will not be able to view some information in the ARC Document Retrieval Service (DRS) or obtain the data on CD, printed reports, data files, etc. If you think your agency or CTD will need to access the 2005 data in the future, or want the security and peace of mind of having this information or more recent information, this is your opportunity to obtain it from ARC.

  3. Will I see an image of the ticket?
Yes! The ARC Transaction Viewer™ will enable you to view each transaction similar to the ARC Document Retrieval Service.

  4. I filled out the ARC COMPASS® Report Agreement last year. Do I need to fill it out again this year?
As long as the information previously provided on the ARC COMPASS Report Agreement has not changed, you do not need to complete another Agreement.

  5. I recently purchased/acquired an ARC-accredited agency. Can I order that agency’s data?
If the agency was acquired as part of an ARC-approved ownership change, the new agency owner may order the data.

  6. What period does the data cover?
The ARC Transaction History File offers secure settled and voided transaction data for the past 39 months. Agents or CTDs may choose flexible date ranges based on PED to allow for the creation of historical data at your discretion (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually). Carriers may also elect to subscribe to the ARC Transaction History File to receive recently settled data (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on an on-going basis.

  7. The Tax Detail information is now available in DRS. Will I see the tax details in the 2005 or 2006 ARC Transaction History File?
The standard ARC Transaction History File includes the total tax amount. Complete tax details can be included in the file for an additional fee. Contact the Business Development Support staff at +1 703.816.8530 for prices.

  8. Will carriers accept the CD information as proof for debit memo resolution?
Just as ARC cannot guarantee carriers accept information from the ARC Document Retrieval Service (DRS), we cannot guarantee they will or will not use the information on the CD. However, it is important to note the information on the CD is the same that was in DRS, with the exception that credit card numbers will be “masked” for security reasons. That is, all credit card numbers will show only the last 4 digits.

  9. What is the price?
Prices are based on the date range(s) selected, the volume of settled transactions in that date range(s), as well as the type of organization (i.e. agency or CTD). Contact the Business Development Support staff at +1 703.816.8530 for prices, order information, and an order form. Completed order forms should be faxed to +1 703.816.8511.

  10. What is the shipping charge?
All items are shipped FREE of charge to the Home Office Location address on record. There is no shipping charge unless you choose to have ARC send the branch CD to the branch address on record.

  11. How will orders be shipped?
All orders are shipped via UPS. Shipping notification will be sent to the email address provided on the order form.

  12. What is the expected time of delivery?
Historical orders will be delivered within 3 weeks. Subscription orders will depend on the subscription frequency selected.

  13. What type of payment is accepted?
Direct draft from your ARC designated bank account, credit card (MasterCard, VISA, American Express), or invoice. You will not be billed until your order is shipped.

  14. Can I make copies of my own CDs to avoid the ARC charge for duplicates?
Yes. As a convenience to our customers, ARC is offering to create copies of the data for an additional $25 for each CD.

  15. If I order the CD for my Home Office do I automatically receive all my branch location transactions also?
Yes. All locations that were associated with the Home Office Location in the date range(s) selected will be automatically included. Locations that were not associated with the Home Office Location in the date range(s) selected may be ordered separately.

  16. Can an agency order the data for a branch location only?
Yes. However, the order must be placed by the Home Office, not the branch.

  17. Are voided transactions included?
    Yes. They are included FREE.

  18. Will I need training to use the ARC Transaction History File and the ARC Transaction Viewer™?
No. The data is in a text file format - a very common type of data file; it is not special to ARC. Detailed instructions on using the ARC Transaction Viewer™ are included with each CD.

  19. Can I use the ARC Transaction History File with other software packages such as Microsoft® Excel or Microsoft® Access?
Yes. The data is in a text file format compatible with a variety of commonly used software packages including Microsoft® Excel and Microsoft® Access. Refer to the Help Section within your software program, or contact your software manufacturer, for text file compatibility or instructions.
