ARC REPORTS RECORD TRAVEL AGENCY SALES SINCE 2000 IN RELEASE OF DECEMBER 2005 & END OF YEAR REPORTING & SETTLEMENT RESULTS

Arlington, VA, January 12, 2006 - ARC today released its summary of December 2005 and year- end Reporting & Settlement results. The 2005 year-end and December 2005 highlights were as follows:

• Travel agency and corporate travel office (CTD) sales totaled $70.5 billion in 2005 establishing a new post 9-11 record and eclipsing the previous year (2004) by 7%. The same figure for the month of December 2005 exceeded the same month the year before by 11%.
• Total fares in 2005 also revealed a 7% improvement over the year before. The same figure for the month of December 2005 exceeded the same month the year before by 11%. International fares finished the year at 12% over 2004 while domestic fares were up 3% over the year before. The same two figures for the month of December were 13% and 9% respectively.
• Average sales per ARC accredited location exceeded $60,000 during 2005 eclipsing the prior year by 16%.
• Business defaults among ARC accredited travel agency locations fell precipitously with the number of default declarations and terminations as well as the dollar value of defaults finishing the year at less than half of the prior year’s results.
