ARC'S AUGUST OPERATING RESULTS CONSISTENT WITH 2003

Arlington, VA, September 9, 2004 - Total sales in the four processing weeks in August, 2004 were even when compared to the same month in 2003.   While international fares remain favorable at nine percent above the year before, the larger domestic fare volume ended the month at eight percent below August 2003 leaving total fares two percent short of the same month of the prior year.

Average weekly sales per agency location was $48,732 which exceeds the same month in 2003 by 11% even as the gradual decline of ARC accredited retail locations slowed to seven percent year over year by the end of August.

The percentage of e-ticketing transactions processed by ARC reached a record high for the month with 87.4% of all transactions now being paperless.
