ARC READIES FOR JANUARY ROLL-OUT OF NEXT GENERATION ELECTRONIC REPORTING

- ARC is preparing to bring IAR, the electronic reporting system, to a new technology level with the January 2005 launch of "IAR 2.0." In doing so, ARC will capture technological advances developed since the 1998 introduction of the current Interactive Agent Reporting (IAR) system. IAR is the cornerstone behind the reporting and settlement of three to four million travel agent transactions every week. Twenty-five thousand travel agency locations and corporate travel departments will enjoy a robust, Web-based, and more user friendly system that will replace the former "green screen" technology.
IAR 2.0 will continue to provide all the benefits associated with the current electronic reporting system but with several new features. Enhancements that will contribute to increased user friendliness include:
- Reducing by half the number of screens needed to complete a sales report
- Accomplishing exchange transactions - currently the most complex of transactions - with four screens rather than thirteen
- Increasing the amount of data available and viewable, on one screen. Green-screen technology limited the user to seeing only nine lines. With IAR 2.0, the limit is over one hundred lines when needed
- Replacing all two-character commands with familiar point-and-click commands and functions.
- Increasing flexibility for multiple location entities to set up their own customized groupings for access to reporting and viewing functions
- Downloading or printing of sales report information will be a snap with an easy interface to popular spreadsheet and word processing applications.
ARC intends to transition all accredited travel agency and CTD locations to the new and improved IAR 2.0 platform during 2005. All that is needed from you to utilize the new enhanced system is an Internet connection, a reasonably currently configured PC or laptop, and a desire to spend a lot less time on sales reporting with a new and easier to use product.
