ARC EXPANDS ARC COMPASSSM DATA WAREHOUSE TO BETTER SERVE TRAVEL AGENTS AND CARRIERS

April 3, 2003 - Arlington, VA - ARC, a leader in airline financial processing and data services, today announced that it will be expanding its ARC COMPASSSM data warehouse system to include 39 months of historical transaction data.  The 39 month target will be met in October 2003, with ticket information dating back to August 2000.

ARC established the ARC COMPASSSM division to provide data retrieval and analytical services to the travel industry marketplace.  The data warehouse system was launched in 2001 to give ARC-accredited travel agents and participating carriers access to their ticket transaction information over the Web, reducing the need for paper in the ticketing process.  The ARC COMPASSSM data warehouse system is also used to produce a number of reports for agents, carriers, and others.  These reports range from sales and tax summaries to significant travel trends, such as average fares and passenger counts.  The system was initially planned to retain 27 months of ticket history.

“ARC is committed to becoming the 'Travel Industry Data Store,' and this is a great step toward that goal”, said John W. Kyle, General Manager of ARC COMPASSSM.  “Many of our customers, particularly travel agents, have asked us to extend the ticket history and we are responding positively to that request.”

This expansion to 39 months is especially beneficial to users of the ARC Document Retrieval Service, a web-based ticket look-up application supported by the ARC COMPASSSM data warehouse.  In just fourteen months of availability, nearly 10,000 travel agents and carrier users have signed up to use the ARC Document Retrieval Service.  Using this on-line service, travel agents and carriers can resolve ticketing questions more quickly and more accurately than with paper coupons.  Access to the ARC Document Retrieval Service is free to all ARC-accredited travel agents and participating carriers.

With an additional 365 days of history available, current and future users of the ARC Document Retrieval Service can provide better customer service, e.g. requests for passenger receipts and refunds and resolution of debit memos for older transactions.  Travel agents will also have an easier time meeting document retention requirements for certain government and corporate contracts.
