Several agents have notified ARC that they have been the subject of a fraud in which a man impersonating an airline official asks for confirmation of the agent’s ARC/IATA agency code number (ACN). In one case the impostor had only one digit wrong so it lulled that agency into correcting the code number. Fraudsters then attempted to use the ACN through bogus reservations and/or ticketing schemes.
Reminder: Do not give or confirm your ACN to anyone who calls!
