ARC & IATA DATA PARTNERSHIP READY TO DELIVER FULL GLOBAL DATA SOLUTION
The Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have partnered to create the first truly global data solution for the airline industry. In an announcement at a meeting of the Computerized Airlines Sales & Marketing Association (CASMA) yesterday, ARC Vice President Mike Premo revealed that ARC's Itinerary Detail data is now available to carriers for delivery through the IATA PaxIS product. This is a follow on to the license agreement announced last year for a common format data product across both the IATA and ARC products. This next step in the IATA - ARC partnership combines ARC's unprecedented detail data representing the world's single largest aviation market with the enormous breadth of global data that the IATA PaxIS product represents, giving customers for the first time a view of ticketed itinerary data from around the world in one consolidated tool. Customers will now have the opportunity to support business decisions based on business intelligence from IATA BSP and ARC ASP ticketed transactions from nearly one hundred sixty countries and approximately four hundred ticketing carriers.
"IATA and ARC's collaboration is delivering a truly global solution that takes the PaxIS service to a new level and delivers unparalleled business intelligence to carriers worldwide", explains Mark Hubble, IATA's Senior Vice President, Commercial Services.
Chuck Thackston, ARC General Manager - Data & Analytical Products commented that "Our aggressive pursuit of the combined data solution started a year ago in order to address the business intelligence demands of Star Alliance" adding that "We are now in a position to extend this unprecedented combined data resource to the global airline industry."
The availability of this new service offering will be announced once final development is complete.
