Arlington, VA, June 19, 2007 – The Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have announced the first steps toward offering global data solutions to the worldwide carrier market. ARC and IATA have entered into a joint Marketing/Licensing Agreement for the ARC Segment Detail™ Specification. This file structure was created with broad carrier input and is used in a growing selection of ARC data products for carriers.

“With the global airline industry becoming more reliant on fast, accurate, and comprehensive data on which to base daily business and operational decisions, there is a critical need for global data format standards” said Sheila Cuyjet, ARC Acting General Manager - Data and Analytical Services. “We are pleased to collaborate with IATA to provide the best possible products to our shared carrier customer,” Cuyjet added.

ARC’s president and chief executive officer, David Collins, said that “We see this as a first step in joint ARC-IATA cooperation to enable truly global data solutions. The development of these efficient and secure business tools is just one more way that cooperation between ARC and IATA helps to erase any remaining borders in our global industry.”

Carriers can purchase comprehensive global data from ARC and/or IATA which will provide them with higher quality, timelier, and more cost-effective route planning and sales management solutions. The ARC Itinerary Detail™ format will provide airline customers with actual sales data, not projected bookings, and benchmarking based on the most current ARC- and IATA-settled data for carriers worldwide.

This offering will provide daily segment information for 38 data elements including origin and destination airport, class of service, departure and arrival details, and marketing carrier for each travel segment. The reports will reflect sales, refunds and exchanges and can provide up to 39 months of historical data.
