Arlington, VA, May 17, 2007 - ARC reporting and settlement results for the month of April and year-to-date reveal a leveling of sales and transaction volumes after a record-setting close to the first quarter. Highlights from the month were as follows:

• Total sales by 20,492 travel agent and CTD locations reached $6.8 billion in the four processing weeks in April 2007 – a 1% increase over April 2006 with the year to date exceeding the first four months of the previous year by 5%
• After four months, ARC processed taxes and fees were 12% above what they were for the same period in 2006 with April showing the highest number ever for a four-week processing month

Important notice to recipients of ARC monthly reporting and settlement results: Effective next month (results for May 2007), the format of ARC’s monthly reporting and settlement results will change. Historically, ARC’s figures have been defined by the weekly processing schedule where a month shows transactions received and processed in either four or five processing weeks allocated to a given month. In other words, the monthly figures would include from 28 to 35 dates of sale (four or five sales weeks). Effective next month, a more limited selection of figures will represent sales of a given calendar month (based on date of sale). A reconstructed twelve month history (dating back to May 2006) will be compiled in order to allow a statistically representative year-over-year comparison.
