A “branch” is an ARC authorized location where a travel agent’s customer can purchase travel-related products and transportation. Branch locations must have the same ownership as the agent’s “home” office. These offices accept payment, counsel travel and issue tickets. Branch types include both traditional retail locations (which are open to the public), and locations which are restricted from public access (i.e. located at a corporate client’s office or a call center environment).

A CSL branch is an authorized agency branch located on the agent’s premises and must be dedicated to a corporate client or fulfilling ticket orders from a website. An STP is a location solely used for the printing and distribution of tickets. No other travel-related business (counseling, making reservations or accepting payment) is conducted at an STP. A “host” office, either a branch or the agent’s home office, issues tickets which are forwarded to the STP.
